Roger Stone’s and Jerome Corsi’s Time in the Barrel

Roger Stone’s house, in Fort Lauderdale, is situated between a quiet street and one of the city’s canals, which are the only feature Fort Lauderdale shares with its Italian sister city, Venice. In a small room on the first floor, Stone keeps mementos of a career as a political consultant and provocateur which is now in its fifth decade. There are bumper stickers from Richard Nixon’s campaigns for President and photographs of Stone with candidates for whom he’s worked. There’s one of Arlen Specter, the late senator from Pennsylvania, and several of Stone with Donald Trump, whose political aspirations Stone has championed since the nineteen-eighties. When I visited him, on a quiet afternoon in early January, the room also featured a reminder of the crisis that was enveloping him—and his c

Search marketers have plenty of free search analytics tools available, from Google Analytics’ wide array of reports and features to pared-down versions of free tools from companies like Moz and SimilarWeb.But eventually, marketers wanting deeper insights into their SEO and search marketing efforts – or those who simply outgrow the free tools they’re using — may need to invest in a search analytics solution. Why pay for a search analytics tool?According to Local SEO Guide founder and CEO Andrew Shotland, tools that help companies understand SERP results for target queries are a must.“Google often changes what it considers the intent of a given SERP, so staying on top of what type of content Google is ranking (e.g. packs, snippets, media, e-commerce, etc.) can be critical to deploying a so

OPINION: At first glance it might appear tricky to spot the threading theme in the consumption of a family bag of M&Ms, a cucumber face mask and the decision to turn off all devices at sunset but alas that's the joys of self-care, it really can be anything. You've probably heard the term. Anyone who breathed in 2018 did. A boundless and nebulous movement that's allowed us humans to indulge in all the things we enjoy and hail it as caring for ourselves. And as the resolutions of 2019 rolled out, the flavour appeared to be irrevocably fixed. We're going to indulge in ourselves for a little longer. In fact, in the first few days of January #selfcare was the hashtag that ruled, rumbling-up the total mentions to a monstrous 10.9 million. But self-care itself isn't a new concept. Rarely a

In late August, Bloomberg Law published an article which reported that Mountain View, CA-based Internet tech giant Google had conducted its first-ever sale of patent assets in the U.S. brokered patent market. Data collected and provided to Bloomberg from the Richardson Oliver Law Group shows that Google had sold 207 assets, including 138 U.S. patents, in a single deal this year. The U.S. patents sold by Google covered lithium-ion battery-related technologies, which Google had first acquired in 2012 from its acquisition of the Motorola Mobility portfolio. Google’s patent package was first listed on the brokered market in the second quarter of this year and in June, the lithium-ion portfolio was purchased by Chinese battery maker Amperex Technology. Although Google has sold the larg

Looking back at the series of bloody car crashes that have constituted the last year in politics, the only positive I can come up with is that 2018 is very nearly over. Whether it was the cruel dishonesty of US President Donald Trump, the ineffectual floundering of Prime Minister Theresa May, or the appalling rise of anti-Semitism in Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party, the past 12 months had something for every kind of masochist. And there’s little to suggest that 2019 is going to be much better. Trump knows now that his war on immigrants and a free press plays wonderfully well with his base, May retains her position as the midwife of a Brexit she believes will damage the UK, and Corbyn – who deplores all kind of racism, apparently – shows no compulsion to properly ch

TTAC Project Car: It’s About Time!

The prolonged journey of TTAC’s Ford Sierra is partly because of my prolonged recovery from Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. While other projects never help matters, the excuses end now. Because, even during the depths of my recovery, my vision never faltered; thanks to prednisone’s side effects during treatment, said vision became a C4 Corvette-like laser-infused slalom but with Young the Giant screeching in the background. So it’s about time I drove to my friend Brian’s shop and made it happen. Let’s do it, but remember the mission: to improve performance via Ford donor cars of the era, honoring the time when boneheaded computers made radical aerodynamic shapes that altered our automotive landscape. The 1989 Merkur XR4ti’s superior suspension, brakes

Forecasts for winter storms can be uncertain even a day or two in advance.Maps showing long-range snow forecasts from individual computer models should be disregarded. Major winter storms affect the United States every year, and due to their heavy impact on everyone's lives, the biggest question asked is: How much am I going to see? The eagerness to know how much impact a snow or ice storm will have is understandable, but unfortunately, sometimes that question cannot be answered until within one to three days of its arrival. This thirst to know what will happen can often be fed by those computer model forecasts of snow amounts that often go viral on social media. Sometimes you might see these maps with pretty blue, pink and purple shadings up to a week or so in ad
